VIKTOR VEKSELBERG
Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Renova Group
Born in 1957.
Graduated summa cum laude from the Moscow Railway Transport Engineering Institute (MIIT) in 1979 to enroll in post-graduate studies at the Computing Center of the USSR Academy of Sciences. Holder of a Ph.D. in Mathematics.
In 1990 founded Renova, an asset management company (initially, the company operated as a Russia-USA joint venture), and took the post of its General Director.
Currently holds office as Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Renova Group of companies.
In 1996 founded SUAL Group and served as its President until 2003 when he eventually chaired the Board of Directors of the Group.
From 2002 until 2003 – Chairman of the Management Board of OJSC Tumen Oil Company.
From 2003 until 2013 – Member of the Board of Directors of TNK-BP.
From 2007 until March 2012 – Chairman of the Board of Directors of United Company Rusal (UC Rusal).
Is a member of the Management Bureau of the Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs (RSPP) and chairs the Union's Committee for International Cooperation.
In March 2010, President of the Russian Federation Dmitry Medvedev appointed Viktor Vekselberg as Head of the Skolkovo Innovation Center project.
Since June 2010 has been President of the Skolkovo Foundation.
