International expert in city planning and transport, author of Transportation for Livable Cities Monograph
Born in 1935.
In 1960 – 1961 – design engineer in Hamburg organization Hamburger Hochbahn AG. Then transferred to Wilbur Smith Associates (New Haven) as Chief Engineer.
Since 1964 has been involved in design of roads and traffic systems in Philadelphia and a number of other cities.
In 1975 – 1977 was employed by the US Department of Transportation.
In 1980 became a member of the Expert Council developing recommendations for high-speed tram routes in Edmonton.
In 1988 – 1990 was involved in modernizing the Dispatcher Center in New York Transport Agency.
Since 1991 has been consulting the General Director of the Washington High-Speed Train System.
In 1995 was invited to Perth to choose the concept for development of city transport. The rapid transit system in the city was built according to his recommendations. Next year became a member of the Rome Expert Committee which studied the feasibility of development of the city rapid transit system or a monorail system. The choice was made in favor of the rapid transit system. In 1996 was selected to compare the Maglev technology and the ordinary high-speed railway between Washington D.C. and Baltimore. The decision was made not to build the Maglev line.
In 1998 – 2002 was employed in Washington D.C. Transport Agency
Since 1998 has been consulting the Mayor of Beograd regarding construction of the Metro system and its integration with the existing network of trolleybuses, buses, trams and railroads.
In 2000 – 2005 consulted the Metropolitan train system in Washington D.C.
In 2009 conducted an analysis in Beijing Metro
In 2012 invited to Moscow as a member of the judge panel, New Moscow Development Project
In 2013 was invited by the City Projects Foundation to take part in the expert committee to assess feasibility of construction of the Northwestern Chord and reconstruction of Leninsky Prospekt in Moscow.
In 2014 was invited by the City Projects Agency as expert for assessing the report on transport in Omsk. “Omsk Transport. Problems and Solutions.”
Was involved in various transport planning projects as an independent expert and consultant in Mayor's Offices of Beograd, Caracas, Edmonton, Lima,Manchester, Mexico City, Naples, New York, Perth, Phoenix, Rome and Toronto.
